From 189147 to 1880 he was county superintendent of schools. Active in politics, he was county clerk from 1875 to 1882, Provo City councilman, alderman, mayor and from 1879 to 1883 a member of the Utah Legislature. Active in the Mormon Church, he was a member of the Utah Stake for many years. Dusenberry was twice married. His first wife, Harriet Coray was a niece of William Hooper, who for many years was Utah's Territorial Delegate to the United States Congress. She died in 1872 and two years later he married Margaret Smoot, daughter of Abraham Smoot, President of the Mormon Church's Utah Stake. Her brother, Reed Smoot, was an apostle in the Mormon Church and a United States Senator from 1903 to 1933. According to his obit, Dusenberry moved to Salt Lake City in 1920 and bought this house. 'Almost immediately his health began to fail'. He died in 1925 and ownership of the house passed to his wife Margaret. In 1932 she sold the house to her daughter, Lorena Dusenberry, who owned it until at least 1950. And there the trail ends.
