Sundance, the most exciting time of the year! The time of year where locals, travelers, and celebrities flock to Park City to check out the latest and greatest new films. Everyone comes together to watch films, enjoy delicious food, shopping, drinks, and enjoy each other's company. This year Sundance is from January 28th - February 3rd.
Obviously with everything that has been going on in our world, Sundance unfortunately will not be the same as previous years. However, they have worked hard to make some many things possible to provide a still amazing experience for their patrons. So if you have been to Sundance in the past definitely give it another go this year. If you have never been, this is your year to start because you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home.
They have made everything virtual this year. Making it virtual is great because now so many more people across the world have access to the festival. They are continuing to have the Main Street Experience like previous years where you can walk around and check out different sponsors and check out new exhibits on Main Street. Sundance is also bringing the Artist Lounge to life with meet and greets and questions and answers among exciting minds! This part of the festival is free to the public, so if you are looking for something to do, this could be fun.
It is incredible the extent they have gone through to make everything virtual and just as magical as before. They are offering a new Drive-in experience as well. Among many different cities in the U.S., they have set up Satellite Screens where you can go and watch the premiere of a movie from your car. The cool thing about this is many cities across the U.S. are doing it so there could be one in your backyard and you don’t have to travel anywhere! They are still taking health and safety seriously so make sure to abide by the guidelines. However, Utah doesn’t have any of these Drive- in screenings, I guess we get the festival each year so we can’t complain.
