Winter Festivities

The winter time is one of the best times of the year in Utah. Lots of fun winter festivities for everyone! Here are just a few festivities that are going on this season, just check their websites for how they have adapted for COVID to be safe.

Snowtubing: Tubing is a blast this time of year! You don’t need any prior experience or skill (my kind of activity!). There are many locations around Utah. Please visit their website for the various locations and other information regarding tubbing this season. It is such a fun activity to do with the whole family. It’s also less expensive than skiing and snowboarding but it is just as fun, so it makes for a great alternative.

Midway Ice Castles: A picture perfect place. Impressive ice sculptures and castles to walk through and enjoy. They only have four locations in North America and one is in our very own Midway. This light up, frozen attraction, perfect for a date night or family outing. Ticket pricing is reasonable however,  check the weather first because the dates and times they are open are based off of the weather conditions. They don’t just have set times to come and visit. For more information please visit their website.

Ice Castles

Zoo Lights: A holiday season classic. Zoo Lights at Hogle Zoo will for sure brighten up your night! Lots of lights and fun things to see. Reservations are required right now. This is an awesome family friendly activity that you can do while social distancing. The lights are magical but make sure to bundle up because it does get cold at night and of course, wear a mask! Grab some hot cocoa and enjoy the bright lights. View their website for more information.

The Nutcracker: Enjoy an afternoon or evening exploring downtown Salt Lake grabbing a bite to eat then head to the Eccles Theatre for a ballet production of The Nutcracker. A classic holiday story brought to life with beautiful clothing and amazing dancers. A family activity or make it the perfect date night activity. The production of the Nutcracker has been a holiday tradition for a long time and they are continuing to keep this tradition alive. Please view their website for more information.

This holiday season might look vastly different in many ways, however we can still enjoy it, just in different ways. These are just a few things to do with your family this season.
